Postflop Basics

Observations
- “Crushers” play more aggressively than “Regulars” on every street.
- Through other research projects, we have identified that players with low aggression, especially on turn and river, struggle to produce a win rate and have very negative red lines.
- At lower stakes, you will be confronted with more multiway pots post-flop. This can lead to a bit of lower aggression, especially on the flop. You can’t just C-Bet as often in multiway pots as you would in Heads-Up situations.
- However, I wouldn’t take this as an excuse to not always look for spots to exploit your opponent’s overfolding frequencies.
- As a general rule, it’s better to be too aggressive post-flop and try to make your opponents fold than too passive.
I think this message, which I sent to a PLO Mastermind member, sums it up pretty well.
